Conflicts Everywhere!

We have been discussing the four types of conflicts in class. Think about a conflict that you have experienced. Briefly describe the conflict, then tell if it was an internal or external conflict, and which of the four types of conflict it was.

  1. One conflict I have experienced was an internal person vs. self conflict. I lied and didn't know if I should tell what I did.

  2. I was once invited to a friends house and said yes, but he wasn't my best friend. Later that day my best friend called me to spend the night. It was a tough decision. In the end I chose the first guy, because I new it was rite. It was an Internal Conflict, and it was man vs. self.

  3. My conflict was when my brother and my dad and I went duck hunting. We were in a old canoe and the water was shallow [sticks were out of the water] a stick stuck through the canoe and I didn't have waiters. Gladly, my dad got another canoe before got wet.

  4. Once when I was in first grade I was talking when we weren't supposed to and Mrs. Hecht made me sit out ten minutes of recess. This is external because it is man vs. society. It is man vs. society because I broke a rule.

  5. One conflict I have had was with my brother. I was watching TV and I had the door locked, he wanted to come and see what I was doing.

  6. I was wanting to play a video game but my sister had the TV with the game system, and she was just watching TV. She could have gotten up and watched down stairs so we got in a big fight.

  7. When I was in first grade I went to the Memhis Country Club camp out and I was standing by the fire and it caught my shoe on fire . This was a external conflict which was man v.s. nature.

  9. One time when I was little my brother and I got into a big fist fight. My house keeper had to break it up and we both had to go to time out and we got spankens.

  10. Once we were at my farm and my mom left the car on. When we tried to leave the car would not start. So I had a fire starting kit and started a bon fire. This conflict was external, and Man vs.Nature

  11. One time when I was little, my brother and I got into a fist fight over who got the green marker. My mom was home and broke it uup. I remember that I got the crayon. Man vs. Man External

  12. When I was in second grade I had a conflict with nature. I went through Hurricane Katrina and I lost my home in eight feet of water.

  13. I had a internal person vs. self conflict when i was snowboarding in Indiana. I saw a man on a snowboard he was in pain and I was hungry and I heading towards the ski lodge but I just passed him and went to the ski lodge.

  14. Once I got in a fight with my brother because I wanted to play the wii and he as watching tv. I could have been nicer by leting him finish up.

  20. I was riding my bike alone at Wild Dunes when I fell off. I was on the ground and couldn't get up. A car stopped and the mom of one daughter got out of the passenger seat and offered me a ride to my condo, I hesitated and tried to get up, but my ankle was sprained. I took her offer and she did drop me off at my condo. When I got back in Memphis I found out that I broke my wrist and sprained my ankle.

  22. One time when I was four, my older brother Reed really agrivated me, and I threw my toy ambulance at him. It missed and went through the window.

  24. Once I was playing a video game with my best friend, and we were against each other. We could have had a fair fight, as my sister was playing as well, and we were double-teaming her. I had four lives, while they both had only one. I could have helped my friend take out my sister then fight him, but instead I blasted him off the screen. Then I hurled my sister off as well. This was Man v.s. Self, and was internal.

  29. I was three years old and my mom and I were in our work out spa. I was hanging up side down and fell and I broke my arm. It was a serious brake and if the doctor didn't do my surgery just right I would have a gimp arm for the rest of my life. The only way you could tell is by a scar.

  30. One time I randomly walked up to this kid in my neighborhood when I was about six years old. I pushed him over, and whenever he got up, I pushed him again. Suddenly, he pushed me, I cried, he ran away, and my mom came running outside asking me what happened. This was an external conflict, and it was Man vs. Man.

  31. I had a tough decision, it was to be nice to my step-mom or to be mean to her. I tried both and being mean wasn't the right one, so i went with being nice to her.

  32. a conflict that was in my life was external. Actually today Jan. 13th 2009 I was upstairs playing xbox 360 and she had recorded a tv show that can only be watched upstairs and then we got in a big fight when she could have just waited downstairs.

  34. Once, I was about to board a plane and really did not want to get on. I was afraid that it might crash. After I talked to my parents, I felt better and the flight went by quickly. Internal- Man vs. Self

  35. I wasn't to exited about playing tackle football in second grade. All I really ever heard about the sport on ESPN was a player breaking his collar bone or getting a concusion. I didn't know if I should try it out, but I ended up playing and it was great.

  38. Once my brother shot me with an airsoft gun for no reason and I got mad at him. I was thinking if I should shoot him back. I decided I was going to but he had already stolen my cartridge. This is Man vs. Man.

  40. A conflict in my life was a man vs.nature. I was at a cornmase when I got to far ahead, and I lost my parents. I took a cornstalk, and held it in the air. After two hours they found me. This was an external conflict.

  43. A conflict in my life is when I go to my papa's house.They are all Lsu fans ,and I am a Ole Miss fan.This conflict was resolved when Ole miss won this year.

  44. Once my brother shot me with an airsoft gun for no reason. I got really mad and I awas making the decision if I should shoot him back. I decided I was going to shoot him back, but he stole my cartidge. This is man vs. man, and it is an external conflict.

  45. My first year of kid-pitch baseball was a little scary going up to bat.The pitchers were not very accurate with there aim and I was nervous because I thought I was going to be hit by the ball.I just had to say a little prayer and bat anyway.

  47. Two days ago we were sitting in are living room and decided that the fire needed another log.When we put it on another one rolled out on fire. We had to roll it back in and stomp out the fire.

  49. Back this summer I was on vacation with my family in Florida. While we were in Florida there was a huge hurricane in Texas the hurricane was so wide that it made Florida windy and rainy this ruined our vacation. This was an external conflict man vs. nature,

  50. Once when my family and I had to leave for our vacation because a hurricane was going to strike. We had three more days till our vacation ended, but the hurricane was supposed to be tomorrow so my family had to pack up and leave Florida.

  52. Once I was camping with my family and my two cousins and I went hiking up a little mountain right by our campsite while we were hiking my foot got caught on a vine and I almost fell and broke one of my legs, but my cousin cut me free.

  55. Once I was lost inside Target. My dad was going to get something so I told him I would meet him in the sports section. He was gone for a long time so I couldn't decide whether to go look for him or to stay in the same spot. I decided to stay in the same spot I told him I would meet him in.

  62. Once my cousin was playing a football game in his backyard, and someone else wanted to play also. So my cousin said it was ok, but someone else on his team didn't want him to play. My cousin and him got in a big fight, and it ended up that the kid could play because of my cousin.
